It can be tempting to hibernate all winter long, but there's a whole world out there waiting to be explored. If you're not sure which natural wonder to check off your list first, or even if you haven't started writing a list, there's a place for everyone, it just might take a little extra push. Whatever adventure you seek, start your journey this February 21-23 at Toronto's Outdoor Adventure and Travel Show, Canada's largest showcase of outdoor gear and adventure travel experiences. We've got seven reason why you should get a ticket, get a dose of some much-needed travel inspiration, and get outside. Couch surfers welcome.
1. See breathtaking presentations from seasoned experts
Hear from the best and bravest in travel as they share stories of adventure near and far at the International Travel Theatre and the Best of Canada Adventure Stage. From the Canadian backcountry to climbing Kilimanjaro, seminars are jam-packed with informative sessions and exhilarating tales.
2. Attend over 300 exhibitors
Make your instagram feed come to life with inspo from hundreds of experts and outdoor enthusiasts like Himalayan Guides Nepal and Yukon Wild. Plus, a lot of booths will be offering complimentary samples and chances to win trips and merchandise.
3. Get your hands on all the latest gear
Outdoor nerds can geek out with industry pros over all the latest travel toys like custom-built canoes to environmentally conscious products – so you can enjoy nature without damaging it.
4. Check out the white water demo pool
You won’t find sharks in this interactive 30 by 50 foot wave pool, but you will find kayak, canoe, and stand-up paddle board demonstrations. Learn how to kayak roll or get your zen on with SUP yoga.
5. Get high on the climbing wall
If heights are what you crave, there’s a 30 foot climbing wall for a little boost of afternoon adrenaline. Whether you’re a bouldering pro or just want to scale something other than a snow bank, this climb wall is open to all-levels.
6. Park for free
Back in the RV or speed through (carefully) on a motorcycle, all 5,000 on-site parking spots are free at the International Centre.
7. Stay warm inside
It might seem like an oxymoron, but The Outdoor Adventure Show is inside, and for good reason seeing as it’s in February. Also, great news for those hoping to convert homebodies into wanderlusters.
