Airport satisfaction survey results released by market research group JD Power have placed Toronto Pearson International Airport near the bottom of the list of North American airports. Canada’s busiest transportation hub ranked 14 out of 19 ‘mega’ airports which service over 33 million passengers per year.
That puts Pearson just below the average, ranking lower than Miami International Airport but higher than Newark Liberty International Airport, which claims the last spot on the list. Top honours go to Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport for taking the #1 spot on the customer satisfaction survey.
The survey was based on responses from over 30,000 travellers on six factors: terminal facilities, airport accessibility, baggage claim, security check, check-in/baggage check and food, beverage and retail. Overall rankings have shown that customer satisfaction has stagnated, which researchers believe is due to frustrations with increasing airport construction.
