Queensland, Australia and Uber have partnered to launch scUber, the world’s first rideshare submarine experience. Between May 27 – June 18, 2019, riders in Australia can request an underwater scUber tour of the Great Barrier Reef through the Uber app.

Spanning an impressive 2,300 km, the Great Barrier Reef is one of the world’s largest and most biodiverse ecosystems. By allowing riders to become fully immersed in the lush aquatic life, Queensland hopes to promote a deeper understanding of the importance of conservation efforts.

Since there is a limited number of seats, tours are subject to availability and for each trip, there is a two person minimum. The entire experience, which can include a return helicopter ride to select Queensland cities (depending on your location) is priced at $3,000 AUD for two people (approximately $2,800 CAN).

If you’re a resident of Canada, Australia, France, New Zealand, the U. K. or the U. S. you are eligible to enter a global competition to win a free scUber trip, which includes return airfare and five nights at a luxury hotel. To enter, you need to write a 25-word entry on why you should win a scUber trip.
